Have a look in the photo albums. We tend to update these here with work in progress pictures, and a wider variety of things than might be found on the website. Feel free to have a poke around and see what we're up to.

Just added - bear mask and facet prosthetic. Note we don't have any pics of the bear without fur currently but its based on a polar bear.
Still to finish the skunk/ferret due to a delay over airbrush inks but should be done shortly
Our other exciting news is that we've moved into our new workshop in Coventry. The official Mandala address is now Mandala Studios, Unit 9, 4-10 Argyll Street, Coventry, CV2 4FL (visits only by appointment!). We currently building out the interior with worktops, shelves etc but we'll post some pics up when its in a reasonable state

We've added another new section "hands" to showcase some of the hands and claws we do. This isn't all of them but is all the pictures I have to "hand" currently...sorry!
I've also put up a couple of new masks - the Panda and the Cow (there are pictures of both sculpts on our Facebook page in the Work in Progress album : http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mandala-Studios-Props-Costume-and-Special-Effects/7467446695
Lastly we keep getting requests to see what the furred masks look like so I've put up some pics we had handy of a furred cougar and rat (and the cow is also furred). You can see them in their individual sections
We currently finishing off the skunk/ferret piece which should be up to view in the gallery soon and will have a new facet/crystal prosthetic up for sale shortly. Soon to come will be a zombie/undead range
All the best

We've added a new section "other stuff" to showcase the various random things we also sell.
We'll continue to add stuff to here and split things off into their own sections when there's enough to warrant it
If there's something in particular you want, and noone else can get it for you, drop us an email and I'll see what we can do
Andy
P.S. We may be starting on a dragon costume soon for a customer - gonna go all out on that one cos I've wanted to do one for ages!

Phew - very hectic here at the mo....
Trying to get ready for Maelstrom and lots to do! Apart from casting out our weight in gnoll masks, we've also got a couple new sculpts on the go. Expect to see a full face bull and skunk soon plus a bear mask.
If you're at Maelstrom, come by the stall and say hi! Special guest appearance by Sandro! ;)

Site has now been completely rewritten with a database backend - hopefully there's no mistakes but if you spot anything let us know! This will make things easier to update, and ensure consistency between pages
We now have capability to offer furred options so expect those to turn up on various models of mask. We're also looking into flocking to see if its workable

Lots more masks and pictures up....
After misspent evening watching Transformers and uploading mask pictures we now have 17 masks in the shop.
This is the majority of the masks we have on sale at the moment although there are a couple more still to come once they are cast.
We also still have a few "action" shots of the masks to go up as those always look better than the dull "mask on a bust against a sheet" shot. On that note, if you have pics of you wearing masks that you'd be happy for us to use, please do send them on.
All the best - Andy and Wookie

Happy New Year!
This is Andy from Mandala - having picked up this side of things we thought it would make sense to also update the website.
We've got some new masks which will be going up soon so look out for them along with all the current favourites.
We're also taking commissions for non standard work so expect to see some other work featured on here to give you an idea of some of the other stuff we're doing
So - from everyone at Kangena/Mandala - all the best for 2008!!

Kangena, back in business...
Thanks to the guys at Mandalalrp, Kangena is now taking orders again. You might notice that your paypal orders will be directed to them right now.
Kangena was always intended to be a collaborative endevour and its great that its no longer just me keeping things going.
I've changed the contact address to reflect the new arrangement, so if people could direct mask enquiries to them for now that would be great.
Anyway, be assured that the masks are just the same, painted to the same standards and, yes, you will be able to buy masks at Maelstrom. ;)

Hi, Sandro here.
Well, unfortunately, I've had to do what I tried so hard to avoid - suspend any further orders through Kangena.
It kills me, but answering everyone's e-mails, fulfilling their orders and holding down a job full time has proved a little too much to take on single handed. Its been taking me longer to turn orders around, longer still to reply to your e-mail, and rather than disappoint people I think its better just to call time out till I can get the structure in place to give you the service you deserve.
All existing orders will be fullfilled. Your wonderful, creative, kooky people and I still get a tremendous kick out of seeing my masks worn around the world.
I remain available by e-mail if you wish to get in touch.
Special Notice for players of Maelstrom Larp - I will continue to run the Kangena stall at events! You will be able to place orders in advance by e-mail to pick up. I hope to post further information soon on the Rule 7 forums.

A few updates...
Sandro here. It's been quite a while since the site was updated, but the shop has been going strong. Ill be full time for the next few months so the online range of masks should steadily expand. I've already added a Duck and Mustelid mask to the prosthetics page.

Technical problems
The website has been suffering a number of problems with its hosting over the past few months. We're happy to say these have now been resolved.
Look out for more updates soon.

Sandro here. Just to say that Kangena's stall at Maelstrom was a success. It was great seeing our masks in action, as well as the brilliant stuff other people had made.
I'll be running the stall at the next event too, with new masks and (provided we can get them approved) weapon claws.

Kangena at Maelstrom
We're happy to announce that we'll have a stall at the first Maelstrom event.

Kangena open for business.
Welcome to our website!
Kangena is a group of creature effects hobbyists and professionals making masks for the love of it.
This site makes it simple for people to buy our masks without having to bother with e-mails and checks through the post.
Be sure to check back over the coming months as we add to our range of masks.
